I have just purchased this Heuer bund and loving it. Just need to figure out how to get to the movement, can take the case back off but the next step baffles me?
Serial no 46xx so might be fairly early.

Very nice, I do like this reference.

This reference is a front-loader, so you won't get the movement out through the back without.. um... some significant effort.

The fact that you don't know this is a good indication you shouldn't be messing around in there.

    Just sayin'.

Fantastic-congratulations! Looks in good original condition, unlike a lot these days. As such I'd guess it probably has the unserviced caseback with the stock number on the back too? Darlinboy was right of course, there are a few parts that need to come off first before you can get at the innards! :) Enjoy it!

ps yes, there were some 3 digit versions too but your 4 digit 4xxx is pretty early as I understand....

In a certain sparsely populated area near the German alps one single example with a two digits number was discovered ;)

Ah-my old Heuer friend Mr Tock! Hope you're well. 2 digits-fascinating Mick. Certainly the only 2 digit I'm aware of-and great condition for the age also! I guess I'm not overly surprised you're the owner though with your eclectic collection! ;-)

    Best,
    Steve

ps I'm still keeping my eye out for that bezel for you would you believe :)

    Hello Steve,
Thank you very much for your compliments. In fact, this was the second Heuer watch I purchased, many years ago.

Yeah, keep on! Prices increased tenfold in the meantime :(

    Cheers,

    Mick

I know Mick-I didn't even bother checking closely the bezel for sale on Ebay at $4500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be interesting to know what your very first Heuer was then ;-)

    Best,
    Steve

    Steve,
As I was used to wearing larger IWC watches (Portugieser, Flieger, Ingenieur, GST) it had to be a Calculator. Only later I learned to appreciate the classic Heuer chronographs.
