Hello all, I’ve purchased a Heuer 1163V and hoped to get your thoughts on it. My opinion: Serial # 355XXX (I have no idea about year, any help is appreciated!) Model: 1163V Case: strong chamfers, original brushing, and looks unmolested? Dial/hands: minty under scratched crystal. Bracelet: BOR Kreisler Stelux w/ HLD endlinks. I assume the original GF BOR bracelet got worn out, so endlinks were removed and put on this nice (but later) BOR—Autavia did not come on this bracelet? Thanks for looking at it and I look forward to your opinions.
I'm not an expert so I can't say for certain but it looks very nice too me. For age, I would guess that this is a later one from 76 or 77, after the Viceroy promotion based on the data in this article. It is a few years old so it may no longer be 100% accurate.
Looks in good condition, nice case and dial. Bracelet is not original - see how it's been forced into the end links? Not sure about the end links either, I think most of these came with HLF ends, but HLD do fit Autavias and these look to be genuine. Get it serviced ASAP and have that gasket replaced - until then, do not wear it on rainy or humid days!
Could be an aftermarket bezel insert. They make them now. It looks too clean. Back in the old days before they were offered, you hardly saw any Autavia's with a very good / excellent bezel insert. Now they are everywhere. I bought one, too, btw. The case gasket is a little gummy Love the watch.
Looks like an honest Viceroy. Congratulations. Agree with @redpcar, you need a service with the gasket looking like that. Will only get worse over time, and you don't want that gunk getting in/on movement.
