GTFO! I was just checking out some new watches and ran across the Dressage line. Some really nice pieces - and they now own or have a partnership with a movement maker so they have "in-house" calibers. Check out the LE (175 pieces) 18ct rose gold version: At 38.4 mm wide, this is worth looking into!
Yea I don't know about a lot of these, I get this feeling that there must be some consulting companies offering these makers their own tailored calibres or something, sort of like that company that built Tourbillon complication movements for like 15-20 companies.
As far as outsourced branding goes, however, Hermès has a solid brand equity across the board. I, for one, am a huge fan of their furniture. Go figure.
