·SO, I have 2 601's apart right now. 1 is a great looking Cosmic frontloader 135.017SP, the other is the 135.070 that had a VERY stuck caseback (that I destroyed teh crystal and stem trying to remove).
The 070 had a 'nicer' movement, in that it was less touched, and the 017 had a broken setting lever spring, missing screw in the setting lever, and a missing case clamp +screw.
BUT since the 070 needs case parts that are a week or two in the mail, I've been stealing its parts and it'll get the new ones.
I took the 017 out of the cleaning machine to find the below.
YES, the hairspring escaped from its collet. A replacement balance complete is expensive, and re-setting the collet isn't in my skillset, so the poor 070 is getting even more parts stolen! JUST a shocking development and something I'd never seen before!
