http://www.ebay.com/itm/121899001238?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Man, some valuable metal hitting the Bay this week. This one's got a dial for a 2998 probably, but it's still something to look at! I have no idea what this will go for - but the seller isn't taking offers, so we're gonna find out what this thing's worth!
I made a sizeable offer before reading the bit about not ending the auction early no matter what. I suppose I may toss that out as a bid - I agree, why not?
So pretty. All the boxes checked. Shame about the scratching around the AML, but I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers.
I have created an interstellar feedback loop by linking this thread with https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-speedmaster-blue-dial.23045/ which is referenced in the description of the OP's ebay link. Now all we need is a power source. 1.21 gigawatts?
Ha ha - victory is mine! ... for a day or two until I'm unseated. I've put in a substantial bid, which I think is on the very low end of what this might end up getting - now, the game is, how long until I'm outbid? I say two days.
I am currently the high bidder on the Ed white from the other day...my wife would kill me 2x over if oops I accidentally won two eBay auctions this week...we are going to have to sell your wedding ring, and your car , and ... This stuff is like crack
Of all the various blue and blue grey dials discussed on this forum, I am worried (as a potential bidder) this is the less attractive version. It is more of the grey than blue, and in quite poor condition (photo from listing): For me the dial is very rubbed, and we see this in some of the grey dials. Also this is a long indices professional dial, with no T's Photos are not good, and fail to capture the colour, if it is blue, this is a bit better photo (from listing again) Still it looks dirty, not blue: As ever, with rare things, beggars cannot be choosers, and of course this watch will attract several buyers with some deep pockets. I am looking at it with caution. I do not agree with the sellers assessment of the history. I have never heard of a blue dial coming on a new watch, only on service watches - as ever I am happy to see evidence against this but as yet I see only watches with a service history. In the case of the OP watch perhaps it was fitted along with the later bracelet. It doesn't really matter, its still a rare desirable watch. But this watch is not the same as the 105.003 from Bonhams, which has more blue, and in better condition. It is also a Non Pro Dial, with T's and short indices: Another example is this, that Mrs Fruit wears. Here in the company of some 2915's at Christies: I am looking forward to seeing how the market values this watch.
you are powerless! funny story, a member here posted something similar to you a few years ago. I responded; "you tell your wife about your watches?" He answered 'Hell no, she doesn't even know I like watches' LoL!!!
I don't personally expect to win this watch, even at the level I bid - so even though we're messing around, it's not gonna matter to whoever ends up winning it.
