Another of the madly addictive Captain Chronometers, this one in spectacular condition - one of those gifted and drawered watches. correct crown This one also had the original strap and buckle, but it's been removed in favor of a new Camille Fournet glossy alligator The dial has the brushed center and the mirror-finish minute track. They exist in the opposite configuration, as seen here:http://omegaforums.net/threads/zenith-captain-chronometre-cal-133-8.2869/ Cal 133.8 inside.. ..and Z on the back. Note the clearly preserved machine finish. No watchmaker's marks on the inside. Here it is with its pink sister watch Does the pink one seem larger to you? It is, by about 1mm in diameter, and it's 1mm thicker too, even though it has had a polish. Same casemaker too. Very interesting - I assumed these were all the same size, at least until the Martel calibers were introduced. Anyway, you know who strikes again!
Hi lou nice pair, the date chronometre should have a cal 71, slightly larger caliber . I remember year ago missing a pink gold date Zenith chronometer on eBay outbid at about 1500$..... bill
I see what you are doing...well Hi Bill, I thought the movement size would be the likeliest reason, but interesting that they would have scaled up the whole case rather than having a uniform size to accommodate both movements. I did find the pink gold date on eBay, but it was a good bit more than USD1500...
DIBS.........for both..... I know it would be very long shot, but I tend to find the watch that I dibs......somewhere else Superb Lou.....just superb............very beautiful pair
