    Hello,
I purchased a vintage 1952 seamaster last night. It has some wear but, I bought it for a good price. My concern is that it is not original. Can you look at my pics and let me know if there is a major problem with it? Thank you 3520885295225kgki.jpeg 6749949295228kgki.jpeg 4420739295227kgki.jpeg 1710321295224kgki.jpeg

Refinished dial and terrible wear to the lugs. The movement doesn't look good either.
I hope the price was VERY good! :)

The watch itself is original. The dial, as @Hnansen alredy said, it's been repainted. Apart from the wear to the case as a whole and the movement being a little bit rusted, if the price was good... You should be able to get it serviced and have a pretty decent watch if the other facts don't bother you.

    Hands are too short...

Edit: Maybe they only look too short because of the repainted dial...

To echo the above. The dial is likely the original metal disk but it has been poorly refinished so it's no longer considered original. This has a major impact on collectability.

The movement has various shades in it which suggest it's had major repairs or is pieced together.

    The lugs look pretty terrible.

Hopefully it was very cheap and your aware and ok with the issues.

Thank you guys. I purchased it for just under $200. I figured I was going to be ok taking a chance on it. I am new to Omega collecting and really appreciate the feedback.

I really don't understand people, that buy a watch for, as they say "a good price" (maybe it is too good and that has it's reason...) and they know before the buy, there's something wrong, but they buy.
    Of course it's redialed.

Sometimes I don't really get it, but just trust your brain before buying, everyone sees, that the dial is repainted.

Sadly that's not true... if you would show this watch on the streets probably 99 out of 100 would say the dial is original...
