Hi guys, a friend asked me to help him vet this watch. Asking price is USD 2200. It's supposed to be 18k solid gold and has a cal. 504 in it. I don't know anything about it so I was hoping for help here in the forum. Is this any good? Thanks! It has normally an 18 k gold dial and looks correct except for the crown. Price looks good.

That crystal doesn't look correct either but that's pocket change to fix.
Looks like a great buy at $2200, but I would want to see another couple of dial shots to check for any other problems before commiting.

As much as I dis like the magnifier on the crystal, my eyes are getting to the point of needing it if I actually want to read the date.

Hands are wrong and short. Crown color doesn't match but price is still ok.

Hi @cristos71 , what's the correct crystal for this? Will also tell my friend to ask for more dial shots. Thanks!

Good spot on the hands! Here´s mine with the correct hands and their black inserts. Are these still available?

I think at or around $2200 for this 2954 Constellation Calendar Deluxe was a great buy, even with the small issues that it has. The case and dial are looking very nice from the pictures shown and with a little effort and extra investment this could be a really sweet watch.

Thanks @cristos71. I guess my friend is not in that mood (working on a project watch). Still, will let him know of your points. Will it be easy to source the hands and crystal? It took me a few months to find the correct parts for my SM 300.

Well @boat2dan has given the crystal reference 063px5000 and @hoipolloi says the hands are still orderable, the crown too is easy to order. So yes this is a project where all necessary parts could be easily sourced

I'd still need better pictures of the dial though, these solid gold dials have sometimes had cleaning attempts which have gone wrong. Which can result in them losing some or all of the minute track.

The correct hands really help break up all that gold.

    Great watch btw.
