I just added my first real modern watch to my collection; this Seamaster Chronograph Aqua Terra: Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
    Seamaster Aqua terra.JPG

But I have been unable to find much information about this watch and would appreciate any help.

Is it a railmaster? as one of the Forum's favorite sellers describes? Also have the Railmasters line been discontinued?

When I look up the reference numbers I've seen attached to this watch 221.20.42.40.01.001 or 221.20 it brings up a special edition olympic version on Omega's website.

Strange i looked at this also - I thought something might be fishy so left it. I hope it all works out for you and it is as described.

Me too::shy:: . I feel relatively confident taking the risk based on the sellers feedback, their return policy and fraud protection from visa.

I was also the first and only bidder, so if it does pan out - it will be quite the steal. Now if only I understood if it was a Railmaster or not...

Thanks and will do! The seller is based out of NY, so I imagine I will receive it by the end of the week, (I'm based in Boston), and will confirm A. my opportunistic genius or B. my hedged stupidity.

Not very well versed in modern Omegas, particularly chronographs, but I've never seen that dial / two tone combination before.

I've seen that black pulsation dial before on an Aqua Terra (and I'm a fan), but I've only recently begun to see that two-tone case.

As for the Railmaster question; Aqua Terras are not Railmasters, but Railmasters are Aqua Terras. There's rumors of a new Railmaster, but who knows if it's true.

If I am not mistaken, this is an older model of Aqua Terra with plain instead of teak dial and 42mm instead of 44mm case.
The Railmaster - Aqua Terra was produced at the same time with this model, then discontinued after teak dial model introduced.

Several online retailer still have this type of watch in stock. The seller is also highly recommended. I think you are fine.

Watchmaxx is a reputable grey market dealer to my experience.

Yea, I actually barely lost out on one he sold last week, (ended at 5,400). Ultimately leading me to this one. Just to clarify your earlier comments this model is not a Railmaster Aqua Terra, although they and this model were made concurrently until the new line of aqua terra's came out?

Thanks for the vote of confidence Dennis. I looked up watchmaxx reviews online and further verified their well owned reputation, with the caveat that if something goes wrong and you actually need to deal with their customer service... things quickly turn sour.

Yeah, you don't get a factory warranty with grey market so sh*t can go sour with a defective watch. No parts available to independents.

ps - the link doesn't work.

As I said, the Railmaster was part of the Aqua Terra line, which in turn is part of the Seamaster line. So it went Omega>Seamaster>Aqua Terra>Railmaster. The Railmaster was discontinued before the current, second iteration of Aqua Terras with teak dials, yes.

Link fixed. They offer a, (non factory), 2 year warranty on their watches, which provides a little comfort... but not much.

Happy to help!!! It's a great watch, I have its cousin. I also previously owned its Railmaster stable mate as well:
