Hi, this is my first post. I have been reading and researching Speedmaster 145.012-67. Last week finally pulled the trigger and bought one from the E bay.(#121882838572) The seller claimed the watch has all original dials and movements. Upon arrival of the watch, I found the dial is close "t swissmade t". Also the serial number is 24052430, which is somewhat early for 145.012-67(?). It came with nice 1039 bracelet. I need your help to verify the originality of this watch. Thanks. Kenneth
It could be a later 105.012 that had a 145.012 caseback added, either because Omega had already begun delivery of 145.012s or at an early service. It could also be an early 145.012 that somehow got one of the last few close-spaced T dials, though this is unlikely as 105.012-66 were already being delivered with wide-spaced T dials. The only way to know is an Extract, if you're willing to spend the $150 and wait the 6 weeks; but it looks as though this could be put together.
This watch exhibits characteristics that make me unable to pronounce that I think it an original watch. The serial falls outside of observed ranges for a 145.012 The dial with its close spaced T's is not one I have ever seen on a known original watch. Many have said, not unreasonably that Omega played fast and loose with dials, hands and bezels during production. The more I observe, the less I feel this is a reasonable theory. I think you might have a 105.012-65 with the wrong pushers and case back. Go buy a case back and count your money! Maybe get an extract first
