I just purchased a brand new Speedmaster Pro 3570.50

I want to remove the bracelet and wear a leather strap. I really like the idea of a deployment buckle with leather strap.

Most of the deployments buckles I see online is for the seamaster. Anyone know the model number of the deployment buckle for the Speedmaster.

Can a seamaster deployment buckle, work with a Speedmaster?

I am correct in assuming that 20x18 would give me the best options of getting different straps for my watch? Or should I get a 20x20

Also, is the high premium worth it for a OEM deployment buckle vs Aftermarket?

This is the deployant clasp that's commonly associated with the Speedy and designed for use with various styles of Omega OEM leather straps. I enjoy the functionality and how it wears - is a very comfortable fit. Don't have any experience with aftermarket clasps, but I bet there's no comparison in terms of quality. These come around here, used in the FS section from time to time. You would not put low end tires on your high end car, right?

So to add on what @alam already stated, the 94521813 (polished) and 94521833 (brushed) clasps are the ones most associated with Speedmasters. The 94521613 16mm polished clasp originally came on the newer (post 2005) Speedy Pros from the factory with a 20mm (lug) 16mm (clasp) alligator strap. Later models (around 2010 I believe) came with the 94521813, and from about 2012 or so I think the 94521833 18mm was available. The 94521833 would usually be specified with the strap versions of the Seamaster and Planet Oceans as the brushed look better matched with the sportier watches.
From about 2014 or so the newer Omega clasps had a "Shield" style clasp end vs the "Rounded" clasp end. The part # is 94521883 and is tougher to find since they're a newer version. Some places say it's 19mm, that is incorrect it is 18mm. Here is a pic to show the design (not mine):

Any 18mm clasp should work with Omega straps, however you'd want one that's a single fold over style with push button side releases to have it fit in the same way as the original Omega clasp. The "replica" Omega clasps (the ones very similar in design) that are out there tend to be of very low quality and don't operate very well. The clasps that are fold over but don't completely mimic the Omega design (like Hamilton, Hirsch, FConstant, etc.) tend to work better but are a little bulkier.

Hey, I tried looking for the 94521883 and it looks nothing like in the picture you posted. It looks like the rounded clasp. Is this a error with the store, or did I get the model # wrong? I really like that shield style clasp.

All the online listings will show you the wrong picture and will also give you the wrong sizing. The actual clasp is as I described.
I'll be receiving a new one in a week or so and can post pics to verify.

Are prices negotiable with straps and deployment clasps, like they are on Omega Watches?

And also, is there true there is a shorter version of the clasp for people with thinner arms?

Everything in life is negotiable, except in Boutiques.

I haven't heard this one before probably because most people wear their watches on the wrist. :p But seriously, Omega clasps come in one size, some strap models designed for deployant claps come in two different lengths, e.g. the Omega Rally strap.

Yes, short version is ref. 9452-1633. But accepts only 16mm straps ( on the clasp end that is ).

The 18mm short version is 94521863. It is in the brushed finish.
However, the "short" version isn't really going to help with smaller wrists. The total length of the clasp is around 7mm shorter, but the "closed" position is exactly the same. In other words, when the strap is attached to the watch and the deploy clasp, the circumference when the claps is opened/disengaged is smaller with the shorter clasp vs the regular sized clasp, but when the clasp is closed/fastened the circumference with the short and regular sized clasps is the exact same.
The only difference is that and also the shorter clasp has less length of metal that rests on the wrist.
As @alam stated above you should look for shorter straps instead of a shorter clasp with small wrists.

Very good explanation! From my experience the length of metal that rests on the wrist makes a good difference. This is why I bought the 38.5 AT with this clasp and 19/16mm strap.

I think this is the first thread that really describes that manner in detail.

Agree. Perhaps a mod @dsio can modify the title of this thread to capture the clasp details/information provided here.

I have purchased two deployant clasps from the Omega boutique in suburban Chicago. Both were far less expensive then purchasing from Frei or an on line seller. Straps were less expensive too at the boutique. If you want to purchase a watch, that's another issue.

I recently purchased a universal clasp, read old style for my 16mm aftermarket strap from Frei and they mentioned that Omega is tightening the channel and clasps are some of the first items to get scarce. They didn't think they would be able to fulfill my order but suddenly the party came in.
