    Hi Everyone,
I'm not familiar with UG three handers, especially what kind of prices are reasonable. I would appreciate any feedback on the following few that I am considering. Firstly if everything is original, and second what would be a fair price? With many of these watches I suspect a service and dealing with any issues could add up to more than the value of the watch. I'm sure the asking prices are not reasonable, but I'm pretty in the dark about what kind of prices would be a good purchase. I know it's always a bit of a gamble, especially without movement photos.
Anyhow I don't want any redials, and I don't want to over pay. I'm much more familiar with UG chronos, but pretty new on time only.
    thx!

    1) This one is rose gold (plated I assume) and SS, on the smaller side, the crown looks wrong? and the minute lume needs to be repaired. I was thinking it might be nice for my GF.

    2) This one looks like wrong crown, can't tell if the stain around the 2 is on the dial or in the glass. Is the second hand correct? I have seen other examples like this, with similar second hand, but it's not one I've seen on UG chronos before.

    3) I like the numbers on this one, but the dial is pretty funky. Seller says two tone dial but I'm not seeing that.

As the seller of the third watch, I'll try to help out.

I'll start with the downside of the watch in order to give a balanced view. The plating to the case had been worn away or removed before I got hold of it, leaving the underlying case exposed. It's not really that noticeable but needs to be mentioned.

The dial on the other hand is a stunner. I promise you it is two-toned but it is extremely difficult to capture because it changes colour as the light catches it. The sub-dial and the ring with the numerals are one colour and the central section and outer ring are another. I attach an impromptu snap which hopefully shows that. It is also a decent size at 35mm.

The issue of pricing of UG three handers is interesting. Other than the Polerouters, they certainly won't break the bank.

Servicing/repair costs will typically be a lot less than a chronograph because the movements are that much simpler.

If you like the UG look and want to wear a vintage watch that is a little out of the ordinary (less common than say Omega, Longines or Lecoultre) then I think they can offer tremendous value.

Paid $500 for this + $250 to service .. runs beautifully, keeps accurate time and just glows. Worth every penny. Permanent collection member. I like #1 and #3.

thanks for the feedback so far.
#2 above would obviously need new acrylic, what's it like trying to find those? Easy, or difficult and expensive?

Not a clue but I'd imagine the dial is a semi-precious stone - I have a Unisonic with a malachite dial. Do you have any serial/case numbers, hallmarks or a movement shot?

What do people think about this, getting into a later and less desirable time period?

I can't make up my mind about that one but I do know the chapter ring with the minute marks is askew. Hopefully an easy fix as long as it hasn't fused with the dial over time (and assuming it wasn't put together last week).

I’ve had my eye on the first one and can’t really decide on it. As you said, the crown is a replacement and i believe the seconds hand to be also. I like the case very similar to the triple date. I think it would wear large because of the lugs.

I bought it. Hoping it’s just a case of really bad seller photos and looks better in person. I will get the hand relumed. I agree the second hand looks off.

I was thinking a stick hand would be correct for the seconds instead of a sword? Here is another example of what looks like the exact same sword second hand, assuming this is a much later model. I have seen one other example somewhere, but can't find it at the moment, will keep looking.....

I could be completely wrong and like others have said, there's not enough information out there to make a definite conclusion. On this picture, the sword seconds hand fits the other sword hands. On the previous watch, the sword seconds hand looks out of place. Who know's the watch could have been made that way. A stick hand would make more sense to me but that's just deduction.
