    Hello, I need some help from the experts. I opened up my wife's 1968 ladies seamaster and the case back is stamped with two reference numbers. Does anyone know which one is correct and why someone did this? Is the case back a replacement? It looks like this:

    The smaller number is probably the correct number. It was common practice for Omega to use the same case for several references. Rather than continually stamp new numbers in the back, Omega contracted a single reference number and counter stamped the new references as they were used.

    I can't access the Omega Vintage Database on the iPhone, so I can't give you additional information right now.

    Ahh, I see. Interesting. Seems to add up then, the 535.006 definitely looks like hers.
