    Hello everyone,

Long time lurker and very appreciative of all the wisdom shared on this fantastic site!

I have come across a Seamaster and was hoping for some assistance.

Unfortunately, the seller has provided only two pictures and they aren’t great. No photos of the movement.

From the research I’ve done, I believe this to be a cal. 342 bumper, reference number 2576-12 with Breguet numerals, likely dating to the early 50s.

The dial looks original/unrefinished with nice even patina. Hands also appear original.

All comments and opinions would be much appreciated!

I think it is more likely to be a 2848 Cal. 490/491, but it looks like a nice watch. 2576 is a screwback. Nice watch though!

Looks like an honest, if well patina-ed, mid to late 50's piece.

Ask the seller to gently shake the watch back & forth. If it feels like a nickel is banging around inside the case, it's a bumper. If not, it's a full rotor automatic. (Kyle is probably right about it being a 49x full rotor automatic.)

Great - thank you for the feedback.

I realized after posting that the personalization would also seem to suggest a later caliber as the 342 was only manufactured until 1952.

You can tell from the logo that it is a late 1953 and onwards piece - not that this says much.

I have one with some similar traits :)
