Will the link(s) from a 1039 bracelet fit a 7912 bracelet? On the face of it they would seem to. Thoughts? Something aftermarket?

Background: Have a 7912 which fits my wrist but an extra link or two would make it just that little more comfortable.

    Edit: Added some pics

    The spring links? Don't know
Non-spring links, should be wider than you need by a mm

IIRC beside the width issues 7912 links are solid and 1039 are folded

I believe they initially came solid and later Omega went to folded on the 7912.

When you say the spring links are you referring to the "bowed" pieces inside the link, John ?

Yes, originally each bracelet came with 6 spring links on one side and 4 on the other adjacent to the clasp. BartH is correct. Early 7912 spring links had solid tabs on either side on the inner surface. Later ones were folded (see pic below). Yours seems to have both i.e. mix of early and late. The 1039 spring links are folded and are an exact match for your 7912 in terms of sizing.

    Exactly

Note, your 2nd bct pic which Moz marks up shows someone has doctored the bct incorrectly. So that should be corrected when possible. Meaning the one spring link should be closer to to buckle

Also, some 7912 bcts have spring links which look fixed. Easy to tell by gently pulling it see if it does have that elasticity

Well spotted JS. My mistake, yes, the left hand link highlighted in the pic above is actually a fixed link, not a spring link. So it looks like maybe your 7912 is the later variant.

Spare stretch links come up on ebay fairly frequently. Probably looking at at least $US200 to rectify. I would put a 'want to buy' posting in the WTB forum on OF and check the 'parts for sale' forum too.
