    Hi,

When I received this watch from the seller, it ran horribly. I sent it to a very respected watchmaker and it now keeps great time. I wore the watch to my office today for only the second time and just noticed 1/2 of the bezel insert is missing! Are these bezels this fragile or was I taken by this seller? I did not hit the watch on anything while wearing it today!

Thanks in advance for your thoughts,

Oh sh.... Shoot. Yes, unfortunately they are very delicate. I don't think you were taken by the seller, it's just a very old and very fragile bezel. Sorry to read about this. The good news is Aldo, the milwatchmaker may be able to redo it for you.

Edit: is the above photo before damage took place? If that's what it looks like now, its supposed to look like that, and the inner ring is supposed to be bare stainless steel.

If you google search "CK2913-6" they all look pretty similar to yours without an inner bit to the bezel. I'm new to Omega collecting so may be missing something!

What do you mean? The watch as pictured has an intact bezel.

I read the op's post to mean that half of the bezel's number track flaked off today. I'm assuming he knows that it is supposed to be how it appears in the photo...

Is that dial original? If so, that is stunning.

Thank you for your reply. The photo, unfortunately was taken yesterday, before I noticed is was broken. You mention Aldo, does he need the broken piece to "repair" it? I can not locate the piece!!!

    Thank you again,
    Chuck A

OK, just to make sure we're clear on what is being discussed, as dsio suggested, can you post a photo of how it looks now?

Yikes, that sucks. I guess that's why a) the don't make bakelite bezels anymore and b) the original ones are so hard to find. There's a 2913 bezel and mid-case FS currently on TZ from a seller in Singapore. It may be your last best chance if you don't find the missing part.

Ouch. Well, as I said, Aldo should be able to redo the bezel for you. I doubt he would repair just the broken part, more likely he would redo the whole thing.

Will you please send me contact information for Also? Is the repair a painted bezel? If so, I may try to have him repair this bezel, which should be stronger than the bakelite version, and find a correct insert to have with the watch, just in case. Does this sound like a reasonable approach to allow me to wear the watch a lot!?

I certainly think it's the original dial... it's sure supposed to be!

Dial certainly looks original. This is mine 2913-3.

In looking at the photo, it appears the bezel insert was not adhered continuously, but just wedged in on the rims.
Is this correct, or it spot glued around the circumference?

    Again, thanks for everyone's help.
