Help with info - older Seamaster Deville

I'm looking for whatever other information I can find out about this watch. Any information such as age and approx value would be great (so we know does it stay in the dresser or get moved to the safe). It is my dad's watch and was apparently given to his dad by whatever company he worked for at the time as either some sort of anniversary or retirement gift. I can get more pictures next month but these are the pictures I have currently.

I've done some digging through here and based on what I've been told about the watch and the DeVille name I'm guessing 60's or early 70's - but I'd be grateful for anything else anyone knows.

It’s really going to depend on whether the case is gold or gold-filled. I assume you don’t know.

It is from the mid 1970s not earlier since it uses a 1XXX movement, it's one of the last SMDVs.

Since the bracelet is plated or filled or whatever, I would guess the case is gold plated. Check for hallmarks. This is less desirable than the 60s SMDVs, and the value will reflect that but not by a huge margin. Also plated is less desirable than steel or solid gold (obviously).

Check out the ebay sale price for the equivalent metal 60s SMDV then go back a couple of hundred quid/dollars.

As far as I know Seamaster Deville was produced 62-66. Deville was after 1967 own sub marque as Seamaster or Constellation. Seamaster was taken away from the dial.

That is not so. Do a Google search on Seamaster Deville 1020 or Seamaster Deville Day-date and you’ll find hits for 70s watches like this.
