Hi all,

I was hoping to get some help identifying this vintage Omega 300 I am looking to get. Would anyone know what the model number is?

A reference number of genuine Omega watch is 166.024.
Please be advised that watch on your photos is a fake watch with genuine movement.

How does the seller describe the item? Does he show the inside of the case-back?

Let us know the seller, if he's selling at ebay or so!

Thank you for your reply, I did not realise there were fake vintage watches out there.

There’s a huge market in fake cases, dials, etc for these Seamaster 300s. They used to be a lot easier to detect (stubbies on the dial, wrong font on caseback, poor bezel), but they have gotten a lot better. Buying a 1960s Seamaster 300 is a minefield if you haven’t done your research.

The biggest clue here is it that everything looks too new to be a 50-year-old watch! The lume is a consistent creamy yellow, which just screams fake.

Is this a Watcho with NOS parts and a donor movement?

The movement serial number is from before 1963. The 166.024 did not exist then, I think it started circa 1967. Part-fake.

Isn't this the same fake 300 with added fake aging? 🤔

The hands look different, but I can't escape the feeling that something is off.

i knew something was off when I saw the lugs. That's more the shape of the more moden Seamaster Professionals.
