I am a little confused about this Speedie Pro. I bought it in 1970 in Udorn Thailand when I was stationed there. I believe I paid around $225 for it. I have worn it off and on since then except for a while when the bezel fell off and I lost it. I recently replaced the bezel with the genuine Omega part ( $218, by the way ).
Recently I have become interested in doing some research about the watch. It is a ref. 145.022 which implies the 861 movement ( movement no. 26556812 ), but it has several characteristics of the previous reference ( see the enclosed pictures ). It has the extended hour markers, the applied metal Omega logo, the recessed sub-dials, the Hippocampus only case back, and the original tapered 1039 bracelet with 516 end pieces that the watch came with. Among the numbers on the inside of the clasp are a 4 and a 68, but I don't know if this is a date.
Other than the bezel, the only non-original parts are a couple of the sub-dial hands which I had to have replaced. It has the original case, dial, crown, pushers, and hesalite crystal with the centered Omega logo.
I have the paperwork that was sent to me in Udorn by the Omega importer / distributor in Bankok. This includes their business card, the Omega instruction booklet for chronographs, and theOmega guarantee booklet which on the back page appears the reference number and movement number of the watch.
It appears that the watch may be some kind of hybrid or mixture of features. Can anyone give me some insight into what I have ? Thanks so much to all who respond.

Beautiful watch ! You are right about it sharing characteristics of the 145.012. If the inside caseback is marked 145.022 and it contains a cal 861 it would be a transitional piece, with a dial from a 145.012. You can read about the 145.022 transitional on Spacefruit's site:

    Best regards

To add to what Eric has said, the 4/68 on the clasp refers to the fourth quarter 1968 as the date the bracelet was made. That would fit with you purchasing it in 1970 as the bracelet would have been in stock at the factory, fitted to a watch, shipped to the retailer and then spent a period of time in his shop until you came along.
