What do you guys say about this. Legit? I think it looks stunning but I'm no Longines expert. What's the symbol D/B with an arrow through it? I have never seen that before. Is it worth $550?

Well, let's hope the symbol doesn't stand for DoucheBag. :D

Can't tell you much because you only posted one small picture.

I can now answer my own question about the B with the arrow. It's the logotype for the swedish arms company Bofors.

    model 7785 2
    cal 284

The logotype is a bummer, right?

Here a couple of more pictures:

That case back there shows 18k gold! Military enthusiasts might be interested since Bofors produced a 40mm anti-aircraft gun used in large numbers during WWII. I am slightly worried about the non-presence of 'Swiss' or 'Swiss Made' on the dial; however, that may be hidden due to the photos. Looking for resident Longines mentors such as @Syrte, @Modest_Proposal, @Larry S and @DirtyDozen12 to weigh in. If the legitimacy of the watch can be confirmed, it's a steal.

Don't look at me. I've just been fortunate not to step on a land mine because I don't go outside of the forum when I buy. Even though I deeply trust my primary watch guy, also an OF member, I run everything past Modest, DD and Syrte! Love the brand and the watches but dipping my toe in. Much better at UG. I'm guessing this is a special dial for Bofors because everything else looks really clean to my eye. Love the hour markers. There I've probably just demonstrated that I don't know jack.....:whistling:

Oh yeah, that's legit. Case reference 7785 with a caliber 28x from around 1968 - but I'd want to see a more in-focus shot of the movement before giving a definitive answer.

$550 is a bargain for that watch. It's worth a hundred or two more, even with the logo on the dial.

I'll borrow another members favorite phrase, "I know nothing about watches". (studying some of them only...).

It reminds me of "The only thing I know is that I know nothing." A famous sentence from a Greek who unfortunately did not have any watch... Maybe a clepsydra or a sundial.

I like this kind of sentence: always usefull when you start to think you know something!
