    Hi

I have the opportunity to buy two vintage Omega Speedmasters at a reasonable price, but need some help from you guys to tell me the status on these watches regarding authenticity and wear.

Watch one is an Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69ST
Watch two is an Omega Speedmaster 145.022-71ST (should be early service hands)

Both watches have the 1171 bracelet and are newly serviced.

I would appreciate any feedback i could get on these two watches

    Best regards
    Lars

Not much to go on..we need a good pic of the movements, the inside of the back case. visually I like the first one more. Bear also in mind that '69 was the year of the moon landing and I reckon ones from this year might see a steeper rise in value with the 50th anniversary coming up (as will all vintage speeds from NASA's mega active period of Human exploration (64-74) . Both have lovely dials. Watch 1 is original..can't tell about watch 2.

    Hi
    Thanks for the quick reply!
I don't have any good picturs of the movment or Pictures of the back case, this is the only pictures the owner got (Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69ST).

What is the run rate for this watches today (value) and what has service hands (NOS) got to say for the value?

    /Lars

    Speedmaster101.com is your friend

Service hands are generally a detriment as they are new loooking as opposed to aged like the dial. This can be jarring as the dial has a warm patina, and the hands are stark white.

Would you care to share the asking price for these two? I've seen a set of tritium 861 hand sell for $500 plus or minus depending upon the condition.

Side note.. watch one looks like a lume wash, and watch 2 might have newer tritium hands that match the dial... I personally would need better pictures in other light and the descriptions on the watch.

Wonderful bezel on the 145.022- 71!
The lume on the dial looks good and original. Many 71's and in general 70's speedies tend to age with a greenish tritium. Hard to see the hands on the pictures provided.

Not a deal breaker though. If you buy modern OEM Omega correct hands for the watch and send them to Simon Freese with the watch he can remove the modern day luminova, paint the hands with an aged white paint and refill the hands colour matched to the dial markers. I agree not as good as the original hands, but a whole lot better than a set of glowing bright white hands.

    Hi

Thanks for all the usefull feedback and information. Have been mostly in contact about the Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69ST. The hands are NOS replasement hands, but according to the seller the hands matches the lume on the dail. I have asked for additional photos and before i go see the watch in person. The watch is serviced in 2014 and asking is around 4800 USD incl. an extra 1171 bracelet (with heavy stretch), a leather band and a NATO.

Asking for the Omega Speedmaster 145.022-71ST is about 4200 USD.

    No box or papers

Norwegian kroner is terrible compared to USD at the moment, so might seem a bit expencive in USD.

    Best regards
    Lars

One more picture showing the lume on the hand on the 145.022-69ST. It seems quite consistent with the lume on the dail.

Is there lume on the dial? Looks removed in the other picture.

In addition to what was said before (on the 145.022-69)
Endlinks are later laser engraved replacements. Original ones will be an additional 80-120€. Not a dealbraker in my opinion. Case back is a bit polished, but the correct vintage one (opening holes placement). Price is good IMHO, if everything else checks out to be ok.

Zoom in and you can clearly see that it's still there. Don't be put off by the colour, a lot of 69's lume stays a lightish green colour.

Definitely lume still there. Although the -69's can go a nice yellow colour, they're also commonly seen with this light mint green shade.
