@gogo000 I'm going to give you a little hint. People aren't going to just give you a free assessment of a watch you post from eBay. If you take some time and research the model and what it is supposed to look like(using references like Omega or other posts on this forum) you will be able to form your own opinion on the authenticity and condition of the watch. Once you do this share what you have found and members will be more willing to chime in with their thoughts/assessments

Thanks. Being a rookie on this forum I obviously need to learn. In my defense I did read a lot of particular models, calibers, authenticity but I am naturally very week to make a decision by myself. I had Omega Geneve 1966 (gift from father) and it was stolen from myself 25 years ago. I always wanted to buy the one but was not in position to do so. Since a year ago I am in position to buy one with limited budget. Preference is the same year(1966) or better saying 66-69. Ref 166-041 introduced in 1968. Also my first choice is cal. 565 due to superb reviews. My original watch was manual wind and I could only assume it was 601 or variation but not sure. I was not in watches at that time. Thanks for your advise.

After your research what are your concerns or specific questions.

    Thanks for help.
    1. I make a decision to only buy caliber from third generation. Should I worry or avoid any caliber from third generation due to whatever reason
    2. I can't recognize original hands. Should I worry about that and how to recognize them.
    3. I understood crown is easy to find
    4. Similar with glass
    5. Case is little tricky as I can't connect particular cases with particular model year or even type. I assume if case is stamped properly it would be OK.
    6. I am also not very good in recognizing repainted dials if not specified.
    7. I didn't even start research on bracelets, lugs.
I fully understand if I continue reading I'll eventually get better on above questions but I I am not even close to that.
If I learn everything by reading I might not buy the watch for another considerable period of time.
    Again thanks for asking.

Best thing to do is google that reference which is on the inside of the caseback. Check for similar watches to see if the hands and dial are correct. There is likely to be many variations of the watch.

The hands do appear for the right length and I see no obvious sign of a redial.

Check to make sure the movement is correct and the serial number make sense for the year range also easy via a google search of the reference.

The case lugs look reasonably sharp so it's not polished past losing value.

The strap is most likely after market which would be expected. Most likely the buckle is also not original, which is not a huge issue.

Look at past eBay sales with above knowledge to figure price.

FYI it is a 34mm watch. 36-38 is what most male collectors are going after.

I guess I'm an exception to those male collectors.;)

I would like to point out to our newest members is that most dress watches pre-1975 are smaller than 35 mm.

    Male - check
    Collector- check
Majority of Watches under 35mm - check
Finding booze in Kuwait - about as difficult as finding vintage Omega dress watches 36-38mm
    :(

    Enjoy your booze @Foo2rama !

In my opinion that is a lot of money for a dial in that condition

With Geneves of this sort two things are paramount - case condition and dial condition. In my opinion it'll need to be good in both regards to be really attractive. I'd love a decent example of one.

EDIT: re. price - I don't think that this one is too badly priced, but it does require some attention, both cosmetic work and a service. Still, with a well-worn dial like this, it'll never be really attractive.
