Help with buying

Hi. I found this watch online and I’m considering to buy this watch but I’m unsure whether or not the damaged dial is beyond repair.
And do I therefore need to buy a new dial, or can it be repaired?

Thanks in advance

Greetings and welcome to OF. With few exceptions vintage watch dials cannot be repaired as there is high risk of further damage, loss of text etc. and this one has already lost some text. Redial severely reduces both desirability and value.
So the key is patience and find one in good condition.
Find reference you like and research so you know how it should look.
Follow recommended EBay thread at top of this section to see decent examples.
Read learn how to Fish thread.
Take your time and continue to ask before buying,
Enjoy the hunt!

Hi and welcome here!

IMO the dial is beyond repair.

Is there a special reason why you want this one?

The reference is not rare or is it massive gold?

How much is the asking price?

Hi Passover,
the asking price is 400€, and the watch is gold capped. As I'm new to the "omega scene" i'm just willing to buy one that looks good as i'm still young and looking one to buy for it's looks rather than to buy one for it's value. It's gold capped so not rare indeed.
Thank you for your reply

I agree, i like the light coming from the better side of the dial, which fades on the left most ruined side

Have a look on Private Watch sales on OF.

Couple of nice looking Seamasters offered by OF members

Seeing that water damage on the dial really makes me wonder about the state of the movement. Has it been fixed/ cleaned, or is it full of rust? I'd stay far away from this one.
