Hi - apologies if this is not the right place for the thread - I am posting three links:

Watch 1:

> Asked for further pictures but seller noted that the watch open from the top and they do not have the tools :/

Watch number 2:

> Not cheap as the other one but beautiful, though not sure I am a fan of painted dials.

Watch number 3:

> The last one.

Thanks. Any response would be appreciated.
Unfortunately, 3 years ago I left on the security desk as the airport my grandfather watch and ofcourse it was never recovered. Pictured below 馃檨

apologies some may appear twice - tried to fix

Hi @skinkon - funnily enough I just stumbled across a sales advert elsewhere for a watch in the type that you are looking for - would you mind me PM'ing you a link to the sale?

BR,
Troels.

I like your third choice the best of your choices, but your lost one even more. 馃檨 There's something about the third option, perhaps it looks like an honest watch with history. Sometimes with vintage watches, I like to see the history unless you have a genuine vintage that looks new and stunning.

I'd rule out No 2 as it looks like a redial and the case is over polished. Better to go for something more original

#1 - Refinished dial wrong hands.

#2 - Refinished dial replaced hands, crazy high asking price.

#3 - Complete pile of shit, not a Seamaster, incorrect movement transplanted into a much earlier case.

Repeat to self many times: Don't think you know what you you think you know.

It amazes me how folks can spot these frankens so fast. Guess it comes with lots of experience. For me, I'd have to do many google searches to figure out what is correct and how it should work, then I'm still not confident to make the call.

One look at the case - then a second glance at the reference number, which, as it is four-digit, is waaaaay older than this reference...

Yup, now I see. Took this as a learning moment and took another tiny step forward. Also figured out how to use the J. Borel database to augment the Omega vintage database. Another tiny step along the million step journey. 馃憤

Thank you everyone. Alongside a document suggested by ConElPueblo this will surely help me riding better my learning curve.
