Hi guys! Im hoping you will lend me your expertise this fine evening After seeing a SM 200 Banana "live" I fell in love with it and now Im about to buy one. Everything checks out with the watch in question: The serial number dates the watch to ¨71, the movement is clean, the case is unpolished, the bracelet is original to the watch, etc, etc. The seller is the original owner of the watch and are claiming that its untuched. Im still a bit unsure about the bezel, dial and hands. They have almost no discoloration. Do you guys think its all original, or do you think some of the parts (Dial/Bezel/hands) are fitted/changed at a later date? Im thankful for all the feedback I can get!
I can see patina in line with age on the dial (a touch of “damage” near 11) and the hands look faded not shiny and new, which suggests to me they’re original.
I believe the bezels are very very difficult to find so I can t imagine that it is replaced. The dials come up on ebay quite fequently but the lume on hands and dial on yours seem to match well. It' a great looking watch.
Looks OK to me too and the bold 200 makes it an early one. The scratches on the bezel insert probably don't look as bad in the flesh and are easily cleaned off. The lume om my hands have aged to a slightly different colour but yours look fine.
Thanks, guys! The deal is done and I will be the lucky owner of a SM 200 Banana this sunday Ill post some pictures as soon as the watch is delivered!
