hi everyone, i am still looking for an omega and i have found this omega seamaster 600
i could really use your expertise so i do not get a bad buy.
in my opinion the dial looks quite nice and original but should anyone disagree feel free to mention it.
due to my limited knowledge i could really use an opinion on the price?
any other things i should be aware of would be hugely appreciated
thanks in advance

What is the asking price. Did you notice how badly chewed up the inside of the right upper and lower lugs are?

its an auction its currently at 100€ so probably going higher than that. I have not noticed that, thanks. would you say its a no go due to the lugs or is it okay?

I would but I'm not you. You have to go with what is right for you.

Regarding the price i will evaluate to about 200-250 Euro in that condition.. Many people are not very attracted to the gold plated versions..they prefer the clear steel ..

This Seamaster 600 appears to be in "barn find" condition. That is the way I prefer to buy vintage watches, as it often means the watch comes from the original owner and has not been "messed" with. I like dirt and grime. The lugs are worn, most likely caused by a cheap metal expansion bracelet, that was the strap of choice in the 1960's.Fitting a nice leather strap will hide most of it. The dial is nice and the absence of lume has helped preserve it. I am a bit puzzled by the bezel gold tone not matching the lugs. The bezel appears more yellow gold, the lugs more rose gold, but that could simply be the result on aging. Movement looks good. See what other Seamaster 600's have sold for on the auction site, under completed listings and bid accordingly.

Gold cap is fine as long as it’s in decent condition.

It’s also important to differentiate between barn finds that have years of dirt and grime hiding a diamond in the rough, and those which have dirt hiding a turd.

The dial here appears to be original and nice but the case is toast. Look at the underside and tips of the lugs as mentioned above. Given the generally cheap price of these references it make zero sense to take them on a projects. IMO it’s always preferable to pay slightly more for a breed example to begin with unless it’s an unusual case (heirloom, unusual/rare dial etc).
