Hello OF, I've always liked the look of the Leonidas brand and have been hunting for a Moonphase watch lately. Today I walked past this little number in a pawn shop. The first thing that grabbed me was the honest looking patina of the dial. The case measures 34mm without crown and winds and ticks nicely. I couldn't get the back off it (or at least, I didn't want to pry too hard on my quick visit). The watch is priced at $2000 Australian Dollars. Can anyone tell me anything about this watch and its value, in their opinion ?! (Assuming the movement is correct and in good working order). Excuse the poor photos, I will blame the pawn shop lighting and the hurry I was in ! Many thanks in advance, Nick.
Hi, yes, started to and I have found similar variants online around a similar price range. So I'm not sure that it's as much of a 'bargain' as you'd expect from a pawn store, haha. But I thought it's always good to ask the community as there are a lot of knowledgeable people floating about on here ! ; )
It's a nice looking watch but not sure if that brand commands that much money. I'm not sure the crystal is correct. I've also been drinking...
After a bit of research I'd have to agree. Especially given that a pawn store is not the most reputable of horological establishments !
