Appreciate the help of this forum, I'm searching for a good 39mm vintage Speedy for my collection.

What are your thoughts on this Ed White? The crown is a replacement I know.

    Thanks!

What I know among the vast that I don't know is:

I think the case condition is "yikes".

The chrono hand is a replacement - too short.

What is the asking?!? All relative to the asking.

Agreed that the case seems to be a bit overzealously polished .

I like the bezel, and the dial condition. The even lume plots and similar aging of the lume plots and the hands looks good. The second hand does seem short, I don't know for sure though.
Screenshot_20190427-094616__01.jpg I think it should reach to the end of the dial. I am not sure though about that. If it is replacement then I would slightly be concerned about why its colour matches perfectly with the lumeplot color.

AFAIK the tip of the chrono needs to be very sharp looking. These look OK. Might be wrong on that though..

Oh , so the one I posted might be a replacement/service?

Although, could it possible that there are few variants of these tear drop second hands? A quick browse through the most popular salesites show a few different variations in Ed Whites?

Yes @ar2151 but what is the asking?

If it's lower than 10k then who knows if it might be a OK daily wearer??

Replacement chrono hand if not a broken original’one, so maybe relumed hands (not really an issue if disclosed ) if replacement hand.

It’s a tough task to find Ed’s with untouched cases... Case has been quite polished, and the sides rebrushed. Agreed with the chrono hand... I like the look of the dial...but the lume does match the hands all round a bit too consistently, and it’s quite thick (and one would expect to see some minor inconsistencies in the color of the plots), so a little voice whispers ‘relume’...but I may be totally wrong here, as there are some Ed's (64's?) that have puffy lume.

Here’s an unpolished original lume one (my chrono hand was relumed as it had no lume left)...

Edit : And for the sides...

I'd say fully relumed: usually, 100% clean lume (not one darker spot!) can't exist with some moisture in the movement, as we have here. I would not be surprised if the dial was also from another watch, as I can't see any spot on the paint, the black paint is still very black. The bezel is a bit discolored.

What puts me off here are the obvious discrepancies in the overall patina. But this an impression based on pictures, so YMMV...

I don't know what's being claimed regarding the bracelet but the endlinks are not correct; they're 506s vs what would originally have been No. 6 end links. Could you post a picture of the stamped numbers on the bracelet clasp and if not easily read on the photo give us the numbers here?

506’s are correct also, but correct me if i’m wrong.

Totally agree: dial and hand lume much too perky for the condition of the bezel, case, and bracelet.

This is wrong. 506 is perfectly correct with a 1035 for a 105.003-65.

Thanks all for your input. I agree about the over polished case, but I was wondering if LAWW could restore this to nicer condition. I was told the lume is original as is the bracelet.

I'd love to get a sub-40mm vintage Speedy and the reduced just doesn't do it for me.

The matching lume of the markers and hands is a red flag for me.
Too perfect for a 54 year old watch.

Is there a way to confirm if the lume is redone? See if it glows and fades quickly?

You can take a look at the UV response, but that's not definitive these days.

Apologies, you're completely correct. I must have been a little blinkered as I've just managed to source No.6 endlinks for the 7912 bracelet for my 105.003.65.
