    I'm trying to source a 37mm Jumbo Constellation 168.001.

I finally found one for sale. The price would be close to $1,300. The pictures are terrible but overall it looks correct except for the crown. Opinions? Any idea if that price is fair? Outside of Japan these are extremely rare. What about sourcing an original crown or at least a replacement one that fits.

    Thanks,

Here's an authentic dial for reference.

Forget the crown, you need a new dial.

    This one's been redone.

    Not worth the price, IMO.

Thanks! That's what I was afraid of. Out of curiosity what gave it away?

I found another one for sale but I'm a little confused by it. Dial appears to be original and correct. Everything about it points to be it being a 168.001 except look at the spacing between the omega symbol and lettering. Also look at the frame of the date window. It almost looks like a transitional model between the 14777 and 168.001?

Boy, so many pics and not one close from the dial!. Dial looks OK, but with those bad pics it is impossible to be sure...

Are you sure it is ref. 168.001? I don't think it is, but rather one of the earlier references preceding it. Do you have pics of the inside caseback?

PS: Based on the small crown, I think it's ref 14777 (with dial refinished like 168.001).

Small pics but looks completely like a 168.001 to me. Hard to find this ref. with a decent dial.

Yea the spotting is unfortunate but otherwise it's not in bad shape. At least the spotting is consistent and even. I'm thinking it will look better in person.
