Hi everyone, my name is Jas and I’m new to this forum. I came across this beautiful UG Compur with a snail dial and I would love to have your expert opinion about it. I know the photo is low resolution (not mine), but could you please tell me if the dial is original or a redial? Thanks a lot!
I'm going with redial on the basis of curved-top threes in the minute track and a general look inconsistent (more modern) with a Compur
This was the subject of conversation with another forum member over a glass of wine last week . The text in the listing suggests that the dial has been swapped - read into that what you wish.

It's a Monty Python reference and basically makes the point that apart from a loooong litany of caveats, there's nothing wrong with it. edit: oops, too late.
Cant be sure without examining it, but apart from all that has been mentioned, to me, it does look like a dial from another house which has had the Universal Geneve logo and Compur added at some point in its life. Easily mistaken for a re-dialed UG. I have seen this sort of thing before ...
