Hi guys, I need a bit expertise to identify this Seamaster before I pull the trigger. I assume it´s from 70´s, any idea of the ref. number? Something important to know about these quartz pieces? I have a soft spot of these "tv dials" and would be nice to get one to my collection. As usual, the seller is not providing the best pics. Thanks in advance.
Most folks on this forum would encourage you to look for a mechanical watch instead of a quartz watch. Although quartz watches can last a long time, they cannot be easily repaired when they finally fail. Instead, the entire movement often must be replaced, and that assumes you can find a replacement that fits. If you like the 1970s TV dial aesthetic, try searching for "TV dial" on this forum to see some alternative ideas. You should be able to find a variety of late-model TV dial automatics at reasonable prices (although I say this without knowing your budget.) Have you looked at the Sales Forum?
