I just bought this (full set) 16220 stainless steel datejust from a friend who bought it new in 2003. He never had it service or polished, but it is in very nice condition with its silver tapestry dial. My plan is to have it serviced and give to my wife as a gift. Our daughter (21) made the comment about the jubilee bracelet being "too manly," so naturally now she wants a leather strap instead. So the bracelet goes bye-bye, but she told me to surprise her with the strap/band. She's a school teacher so... Any suggestions? I see a lot of women wearing white leather bands... I thought red might stand out and be fun for her... Then I thought black but that's knda boring traditional... Anyone here have some nice ideas that are kinda fun, but without taking away the class of a Rolex? Pics if you have please!!!
Nothing says knowing your significant others taste, like asking a bunch of strangers on the internet what she'd like...
Thx for the comments. Nothing further required, especially rude rather than helpful comments. Regards.
Any way you try to color it, there is polite discourse and there is rude. It only takes one person to ruin watch discussion as this site was intended and turn it to garbage. This thread should be done and deleted.
And a Happy New Year!! To the OP it is hard to answer your question because colour is only one factor on matching a strap to a watch. Textire, style, material.... Black is a given but will still look manly. My wifenwoild probably do green or blue croc.... i may fo with Cognac. Easiest thing is to enter 16220 on leather strap on google images and you will get something like: And from there you can have a conversation with your wife about it. Also ask @meganfox who has the knack to find or create the ultimate image and the benefit of a "woman of taste" point of view. Good luck
