    Hi guys,

I purchased a Omega Seamaster Calendar 2992 on a lovely BOR bracelet. I think this is from 1961, but if anyone else knows something about this piece I would love to hear about it.

I will open the caseback when it arrives as the serial will give me a lot more to go on.

Are you sure about the reference? The case looks like a late 50's like the 2846 or 2848. is the stain between date and center on the dial or on the crystal?

Hi, Im not sure, it looks like a scuff on the crystal. I will know for sure when it gets here. I was only guessing about the reference, it was based on a photo I found of a very similar watch to mine.

Ok tell us when you have it. The shape of the lug is rather typical of 58/59

This should be a 2849 reference. 2846/2848 are non-date models.

Movement/serial number pics will determine the year. I’d say post-1958 given the small logo case back.

    Looks like a 2849 with caliber 503.

Here is one I sold a while back that dates to ~1959....

Hi, so the watch arrived today and it is a lot cleaner and sharper than it appeared in the photos. The smuge on the plexi simply wiped off.

Not sure if the bracelet clasp code is 8220 or 6220, but would that be a replacement bracelet or original to the watch. It has some very green looking spring bars installed.

Overall I am happy with this watch. I am a little surprised something from the late 1950's could turn up looking so good.

That's not a bad buy, especially for one walking in semi-blind :D

You'll need a thin blade to wedge in between the caseback and case. There is a tiny cutout for this opposite the crown. Don't wriggle or flex the blade, but apply inwards pressure otherwise you could end up marring the case.

The watch seems to be unmarked from the 1950's...I dont want to be the guy that gauges the caseback.
