Hi Everybody, I am a first time vintage watch buyer and have my eyes set on an Omega Seamaster de Ville. I have found a particular watch for $1300 and would love people's opinions on whether this watch appears to be the real deal. Thanks! The execution of the "Automatic" and "Seamaster De Ville" text lead me to think that this dial has been refinished. Hopefully an expert will chime in.
Not ready to write OPs watch off as being refinished, there are some variances in Seamaster print. I know for sure this one is original.
Notice how the first "e" in Seamaster is different and "VILLE" is spaced differently? Is the text not refinished?
Hi Dengar, thanks for your comments. I had some suspicions on whether the watch was refinished/redialed. The last two weeks, I feel like I've taken a crash course on vintage watches after reading numerous threads on different boards. I like the style of the 1960s de ville so at this point I just need to be patient.
