    Hi All,

I am looking for ideas on how to best open and remove the folded links on the 1039 and 1171 bracelets with out damage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You simply pry it open carefully! But why do you need to remove the fixed links?

I need to remove one of the fixed / spring links as it has a half spring link in it and the spring has broken.

That’s odd? I have both a 1506 and 1039 flat-link bracelets and I don’t believe either has springs in any of the fixed links?

Here’s the best way to remove the folded links; DON’T!
Just remove as many spring links as needed, or all of them.
Removing the folded links will only F-up the bracelet.
If it’s still too big on you after removing all the spring links, you most likely need to gain some weight...

I use a Bergeon case opener to pry the link open JUST enough to separate it, and brass- or nylon-faced parallel-jaw pliers to close it back up.

Agreed. The key is not to open it more than you absolutely have to. It can be done without too much difficulty, just go slow and don't get impatient.
