Hi what service is best for mailing and having insurance from uk to us? Most seem to only offer up to £2500 for loss only! I want to send my goodplanet value of £3500.
    Thx

Whoever you use, be aware you will may have to include a watch worksheet breaking down the component value of case, movement, battery! etc since there is duty payable on watches imported into the US, it is only ~5% but it is a PITA to get the paperwork good enough for them to pass the watch without delay in my experience. Don't be tempted to send anything which could be on the CITES watch list like a Croc or Alligator strap.

This isn't as silly a suggestion as all that. You can currently fly BHX to EWR for about £300 return, making postage look a bit pricey.

Parcel Pro...And hand delivery is awesome! True by the time you add up the fees and the hassles .. may as well have some fun in Uk or USA.

This isn’t as easy an option for UK folks as it is in the US as Parcel Pro will not take personal accounts any more. and aren’t interested in insuring individuals.

Its ridiculously complex and what with customs forms and declarations....its just not worth the risk. So much for an easy to trade global world. Private seller to private buyer too! Oh well thanks. Minimum cost I found was in the order of £200 to insure (loss only!) and another £40 to mail.

Take a look at TZ-UK and search on Parcel Pro. An ex employee of Parcel Pro set up a competing service, based in LA I think, who will happily insure UK individuals for shipments like this and indeed domestic shipments also. He was a regular poster there and seemed happy to help I am afraid I can’t remember the details and haven’t got time to find them but that did look like a plausible alternative.

Do feed back if you find a good solution.

I think DHL insure up to £4k on watches for 1.5% of value? Would work out as £52.50.

I had bracelet links disappear between RM and USPS for 5 months. Not a fan.

Hi gents, anyone know if this alternative to ParcelPro is still operational?
    If not, any other ideas?
