    Hello gents,
can anybody please help me to figure out if the dial in this 166.009 Cross Hairs Seamaster is original or is it a nice redial?
I know it's not the best photo, is the one provided in the online publication, but maybe it's good enough.
I'm evaluating it to make my own, and the crosshairs itself look a little bold to me, what do you think?
    Thanks in advance.

    Miguel

I say yes, the font of seamaster looks very thick as do the crosshairs though I will add the caveat that I have been wrong before!

Sure looks that way? The S in Seamaster doesn't look right .

    Redialed.
Crosshair is too thick. It should be thinner than the font.

Who can say for sure with that crappy picture? I've seen original dials mistaken for redials because of poorly lit and out of focus photographs.

Can you supply a more lit, better focused picture?

The cross hairs need to be more delicate. On the evidence of the photo they are a later addition.

That's the difference between an expert and a novice.

Calling @cicindela! Steve, we need you to tell the tale of the "redialed" black Constellation Pie Pan with white cross hairs that everyone else passed on because the poor pictures made it look refinished.

Did Steve buy it? Because he's an expert.
That's how they win the games on eBay.

    Hello Gents,
Thank you for all the feedback, it reflects (and reinforces) most of my thoughts on this point. Sadly there is no much hope to get a better photo ro discard the effect of poor illumination and/or focus off the equation.
I think i will decide the purchase keeping in mind the strong possibility that it is a redial or very probably the cross are added aftermarket.
    Thank you, very much.
