I'm a new member and need help please to date and, if possible, value this piece.

Despite what I have read and seen on the Forum, the Seamaster I have here does not have any very obvious numbers inside. It is marked only Seamaster, 17 jewels, SWISS. There is a number deep inside (I'm sorry I can't be more specific as I am unfamiliar with the vocabulary!) This number is 1130, under two letters in a box that, I think, are "AS".
On the outside of the watch case, it is marked Plaque G10 and JS, again in a box.

On the back of the case (exterior) There is an Omega Logo in a Triangle and then a box that is rather worn. The only thing I can read clearly is 0.750. Then the words STAINLESS STEEL BACK and SWISS, followed by number 16222. There are some faint numbers inside the case, but they are best described as scratched on, rather than stamped, so I can't photograph them

    Any information gratefully received! DSCN7257.JPG DSCN7258.JPG DSCN7260.JPG DSCN7261.JPG DSCN7265.JPG

    Thank you. DSCN7257.JPG DSCN7258.JPG

Unfortunately that watch is a complete fake. It was not made by Omega...

    Cheers, Al

Maybe so, but it looks like a genuine Stevie Wonder signed "Seamaster" ;-)

I'm so glad that I have provided you guys with such an opportunity for humour!

Fortunately, I'm not the idiot who bought it... it belongs to a friend. But I do appreciate the time you have taken to look at it and your trouble in posting a reply.

Can't find a kissy emoticon... so going with a simple:) in thanks and a ::facepalm2:: in embarassment!

Glad you found your way here, sorry the watch did't pan put for your friend.

Don't let it dissuade him or her from trying again.

This bunch enjoys a good laugh, but will, in my experience, provide expert and excellent advice if consulted in advance of a purchase.

Yes, you are a fantastic and (dare I say it?) fanatical bunch of watchaholics. I am most grateful for the interest. I may take up Omega hunting just to avail myself of the forum!

Before I do, I will have to acquire an implement for opening cases.

    Any recommendations?

    Cheers to all!

That one works best for me too, UncleBuck.

Interesting how the forger utilized the same stamp to mark both the dial and the movement.

That is a very big tell that it is fake! Omega NEVER prints the watch model name (Seamaster, Constellation, Geveve, ect.) on their movements.
