It's a caliber 62x (probably 625) which was used in smaller men's and many lady's watches from the 60's into the early 80's. if the picture was better we could read the serial number in the yellowish circle and tell you what year it was made.

43xx serial number dates this to ca 1979.

Yes, these are just a smaller size, 18mm, rather than a typical movement found in a Seamaster or similar which are around 28mm.

thats lovely to know the date, ah so thats why it looks small compared to the 28 mm, i understand that now, thanks. also do you know what these was priced at back in the late 1970s ? and do you know why they put a smaller movement in ? thanks again

The smaller movements were used for packaging, as a larger movement wouldn't fit in these slim dress styles.

Sorry, really can't help on the pricing.

It wouldn't have been overly expensive, in 1979 Omega was being hammered by competition from Quartz watches and had to price themselves into the market

oh that's interesting, i didn't think about the quartz watches coming in. when i use this watch how many turns do you think it will need ? ive only had oris watches, so not sure how to turn the omega, as i dont want to over wind it. thanks again

i guess i should just wind it like my oris watch, till it gets tight, an not wind it anymore is that about right? or should i take more care of it to my oris ?

Spot on, fully wind it but don't go nuts, it will stop winding when full
