I'm looking to get a vintage case for a build, and came across this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231350950558?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I asked the seller what the inside of the case back says, since I couldn't make it out on the ebay pic. He responded with "C.R.S.", which I found on Maddox to be from a special edition two-toned Italian model from 1987: http://chronomaddox.com/omega/tables/mr/speedy_history_cm.html . Makes me wonder if it's a newer replacement case fitted with a novelty back or what's going on. A new replacement case retails for 474GBP, with bezel/crown/crystal. What do you guys think?
Well, I feel stupid, the C.R.S. is on a bunch of casebacks, if it is under the model number as it is in this case (if I've got my facts straight). It appears this caseback is like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-NOS...21546203456?pt=AU_Watches&hash=item4adda5b140Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Does this mean it is a replacement case back? Would really appreciate some help here, the auction ends in a couple hours. Thanks!
Thats quite a lot of money for that case in my opinion. You can buy a brand new case complete with bezel, crystal, crown etc for about 400GBP
