I bought a vintage omega watch from an antiques shop about 6 months ago as a bit of a spur of the moment buy because it interested me and I just fancied owning one (I’ve no experience in vintage watches at all).
I’ve now done a a fair bit of research on the watch but I’ve still some questions I’d like to answers to so hopefully someone can help.
When I bought it, i was told it’s a 9 ct. gold 1948 bumper watch. The seller had apparently worked with watches all his life and serviced it himself.
My question is about the face. All other omega bumper watches from this date I’ve found have a raised gold omega logo and also have “automatic” written below omega. Mine has a flat, black printed omega logo and no “automatic”.
I wondered why this was and if the face is not the original one?
I’m now thinking of selling it just because I could do with done cash back but thought it would be good to know some more details first.
Thanks.
