    Dear all,

I hope you all are having a great day. I am on the edge of going ahead with my first Omega purchase, a brand that I have long admired and am finally in a position to get one. I would be grateful if members of this forum can provide with me some advice as to the authenticity of this Omega and whether or not I should go ahead with the purchase.
Thank you very much in advance!

The watch is described as an Omega Vintage from the 60s, with a 420 cal. mechanical movement and an aftermarket case. Here are some photos of it. Thank you so much again!

    Cheers,

Its an omega cal 420 (as shown on the movement) in a clearly aftermarket case. With a bad redial or fantasy dial that has damage, almost as bad as the cheap case it is in, which is also in bad condition.

I'm not 100% sure how that movement is staying in the case either(missing screws).... Piece of junk case very very tired movement, worthless dial, and it will need a service that will cost much more then the watch is worth. Hint a service is about 200... the watch is barely 1/10 of that....

An assemblage of crap left overs from somebody's junk box.

    Total value? About $1.32.

Looks like a Mumbai Special to me.

Ill-fitting non-Omega case, tired movement, and bad redial.

    Not even good for parts.

    Run away,

M’Lord! You should stick to the sales forums on here for your first vintage purchase. You can be assured that the sellers are honorable gentlemen and the watch will be bona fide. Don’t be lured by the siren song of unbelievably great deals out there...you’ll find the real ones after you’ve spent some time on here first.

Thank you very much everyone! I have gladly taken your advice and stayed safely away from what could have been a disastrous deal for me. Would definitely take a look at what this forum has to offer!
