The case and movement is in average condition, however the dial is refinished. It doesn't pass MOY test (google in desmond article), the cross hair is too thick. That's why collector community stay away from this piece. If it is not redial, it should pass $800 easily.

Hi Y, this is the link to Desmond's blog about the MOY test to help you. Desmond's blog is a treasure trove for Connie collectors, well worth exploring!

The dial and case are known fakes. I've reported to eBay.

    Let's see what happens,

It is a redial.... and the fact that the seller obscuring the script in upper and lower part made me suspicious too. I'll pass.
There is possibility it is a fake case, but I am not expert enough to tell about that.

Just be patient. I experienced same thing like you. Last December I almost buy a fake gold pie pan. All members in here helped me to avoid it.

Yea you just have to keep your money in your pocket until the right watch comes along, when you buy a quality piece for the right money you never regret it. Just have to be patient :)

Keep an eye on the ebay recommended sticky thread, something interesting might come up.

If it's any consolation to you, I got my first piepan only after almost 6 months on this forum.

I am slightly faster and luckier. After 2 months. I saw somebody showed his recent buy pie pan to this forum and got many compliments. I PM'd him as to whether he would consider flipping it, and he was. Few negotiations and a happy ending for both.

Patience is important. I waited about 4 months too before I bought my first pie-pan from a fellow forumer. It'll come, don't worry.

Unless a piece is very rare, pass if you have the slightest doubt. There will always be another one.
