I'm leaning in on this one, before I pull the trigger please tell me if any issues? Are the indices on the dial okay for the movement caliber 290 in there? Anything looks off? Many thnx!!! http://m.ebay.com/itm/201944530305?ul_ref=http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11304.m43.l3160/7?euid=e46db6e786594c11aa63fafb20f3dcdc&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D201944530305%26ssPageName%3DADME%3AX%3ACOCE%3AUS%3A3160&srcrot=e11304.m43.l3160&rvr_id=0&_mwBanner=1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I think it's just a rare variant. Print is top notch, can't see any abnormality -> Original Conquest dial. Probability that the dial was taken from another Conquest is very, very unlikely imho. Go for it it's nice! I was very tempted too. What put me off was that I would have to pay additional 19% in customs. Maybe you can even manage to get a little discount. It's sitting there since quite a while. Maybe it's the location...
Admittedly, I've also been thinking about that 291 you've got listed @JohnSteed. I just don't want to try and track down another scalloped crown.
Well, I'm sure my valuations are a bit skewed, but I've recently picked up an 18k 30L Flagship for just over $600 and a capped Power Reserve at $1800. So, I'd be more at like $1600-$1750 on the Conquest you're looking at.
Wearing the Flagship today. Delivered in 1960 to their agent in Panama. The Conquest is at my watchmaker.
Considering the condition of the Montevideo Conquest, which is fantastic, I would say it is absolutely not overpriced. Well, if customs/tax apply in your country that's a different story though
I did. I want to know who picked up the stainless one that was just finished on EBay. I'm sure the new owner is lurking here.
