I think a Suveran should have Suveran stamped on it.

If you have just bought it, I guess you know the answer!
The dial looks good but we need to see the case back and the for further comments.

Edit: like Hoipolloi I would expect a Souverain stamp on the case back. But we have Souverain experts that may chime in.

Thank you for the replies! I paid 350 at a flea market..
I am not sure how to open the case back. I do know that it had a red gold coloured movement (30t2). Reference 2400-1

After reading a bit, I heard that suverans had numerous types of case backs.

    Thanks again guys!!

    Hello,
    I expect "sweden" and 1944... +/- cal. 30T2 I agree.
Price? regarding the deal, not to high... like you have paid up to 450€

There were 3 different casebacks on the Suverän and the one you shown is correct for a Suverän,

In this thread you can see the different version of casebacks

How do you feel about the dial? I don't remember seeing this variant before, have you?

Agree, have not seen that dial variant before on a Suverän,

The dial looks original and from the same time, but not sure that it was used on Suverän

This is the normal white one

The caseback certainly is and the rest problably too - I don't imagine that someone would put together a franken just to sell it to you cheaply ;)
Just an uncommon dialvariant. The serial number should be in the neighbourhood of known Suveräns, so knowing that is important. The Omega ref. 2383 is as far as I know similar to the Suverän (ref. 2400) including dial variants, but with a blank caseback, making the caseback the only Suverän-only part and therefore essential...

Getting an extract of the archives may be the only way to determine if the movement belongs in the case, but that can be said for nearly all vintage Omegas. I personally wouldn't bother. Enjoy the Suverän, a good purchase and a lovely watch!
