Your constellation is beautiful! I have searched and found some things that I like, I will attach all the links below, if I get some feedback on this great! If not, that's ok I don't expect anyone to go through these. I just want to know if there is anything that really stands out in the group, or if all of them are awful
I've been wrong in the past, so I want to narrow down my list and investigate further on the ones that seem legitimate/special.
All help is GREATLY appreciated! Even just to confirm that I am headed in the right direction.
Hi sba
I think you my have 'bust the bank' somewhat by posting so many links to watches all at once -hence few replies
I will restrict my comments to the Constellations as that is what I know ( a little) about
first -Chrono 24 watches are generally all too expensive
second -if it is from India -unless you are an expert -run a mile -I've never seen an original watch from there
often nicely done but still repainted for all that
(adverts often say 'original dial' this does not mean it has not been repainted -that goes for all adverts not just from India)
nice linen dome dial 168.018
later style hands
good case
nice 564 movement
completely knackered gold medallion (shame)
too expensive
nice watch -another dome dial 168.018 -but with later style indices
564 movement
picture not clear enough to make judgement on authenticity -you must be able to see the fonts clearly to know it is not a redial
stainless medallion in very good order
too expensive
this very nearly a very nice watch
168.004 hidden crown cal 561
cross hair dome dial -all looks correct
nice case -not too much polishing
decent medallion with a little (acceptable ) wear
downsides:
lume on hands is crumbling
movement looks a little uncared for (grubby) -may have been rubbing or may be fine - just rings a few alarm bells
if you look closely at the dial you will see little white spots
-these may be on the crystal but I think they are little bubbles in the lacquer on the dial -mine has them but cost a third of the price of this one
too expensive
a nice 14393 cal 561
case good (but not mint)
cross hair pie-pan,looks original, looks like onyx inserts in indices
no shot of the movement -never a good sign
downside:
'patinated' dial -for me it just looks grubby -but it's personal taste
too expensive
168.005 dogleg
cal 564
dome dial -looks original
nice medallion
downside:
polished case -lugs should have sharp edges
better price but still too expensive for a polished watch
168.029 C-shaped Connie
cal 751 day date
linen dome dial -looks correct
downside
german day wheel
dial a bit grubby?
movement in poor condition
definitely too expensive for a later Connie
regards
Philip
