    Hello!

I received this very old ( or looks old) Omega watch from a friend. I tried to research but all I was able to find was the yeaar of production, according to the serial number. However I have hard time to figure out caliber and other details. I am not expert on watches field, this is my second watch that I am dealing with. Pls help with any detail and what can the estimate price be. Thanks a lot! The case number is : 9509417 and the serial number on the watch is :8613599.How do you find out if is man or women? what movement or cal is it? The watch is for sure Original Omega produced circa 1934 and 1935. IMG_20150923_160039.jpg IMG_20150923_160050.jpg

    Hi,

It is a caliber 26.5 (probably T2) SOB Inside. Definitely a men's Watch at that time.

It looks like a ref 2008, as shown here in the 1940 catalog :

The dial and hands are different in the catalog but it doesn't mean that it's a different reference. Omega used to have different set of dials and hands for the same model in those years.

    What diameter is it?

Thanks. Is 30 mm in diameter . What could be the realistic price for it?

I think it's cal 30T2 , and price will depend on condition. from my experience, in this model in BEST like NOS condition, I purchased it more than 1000$

The watch case is 30mm and the 30T2 movement is 30 mm.
How can you fit that movement into the case?

This watch is not working, but has everything beside the strap. Now i meassur again, and is 30.5 mm . Does that makes sense?

    It's a 26.5 not 30T2.

any way, This watch is not working. I did searched arround, but cant really make up my mind what will be the best price. Is 1000 really realistic? I listed on Ebay as well ...is up for bidding.

True market value, if there is no reserve on your auction.
There is little demand for little wristwatches these days. Let the market decide.

Let market guide your watch value. Auction seem to be right choice.

    Hi,
Sorry to say it, but something like 1000USD is a crazy price for a 26.5. Especially when it is non running with a heavily stained dial.
Here is for example mine with the same case, running and in a better condition, even though not like new, I have paid and would only accept to pay only a small fraction of that amount for it. :

I don't see any 26.5 that would be Worth 1kUSD, even NOS.

Yes, you're right, now I see one. I should have added in a steel case
