I need some help to figure out a model number and also to get an idea on valuation. The Omega watch in the pictures was my fathers, who passed away in Nov 2017. The watch was bought around 93/94/95 from the US. There is a number on the back 54325333 but I cannot figure out the model number although I contacted Watchfinder who said it may be a 4530.62.00 (which I cannot find anywhere) . I have no intention of selling it but as I am sorting out my dads estate, I wanted to get a rough guide for value. I will take it somewhere to get a proper valuation a bit later but would like to see if I can get some help to find out what its model number is and rough value. Please help if you can.

I think your best bet would be to take it to a jeweller and have the back off it to get the reference number from the inside of the case back (any independent should be able to do it) - it looks to be a gold plated mid-sized quartz watch that won't have much value, so I wouldn't even bother paying for a valuation - maybe £200 if you're lucky?

Probably an Omega De Ville from the "Symbol" series, model BA 196.0316. 4530.62.00 is the Omega PIC number, but in this case it's more likely 4430.13.

Due to being quartz, a bit small by today's sizes and not an "in" style the value is less than many mechanical vintage watches.

The bezel is 18 karat solid gold, it has the original strap and it's in reasonable condition.

You can check eBay for recent sales to get an idea of value.

That would make it a ladies model.

We will not know unless we see the inside of the caseback.

Also .. it does appear to be 93 or 94 .. which is quite close to the time my dad bought it (new) .. Struggling to actually find another image of the same watch on line .. including ebay. My dads has numbers rather than roman numerals.

Omega made many many variations of the same model/reference number. Some were specific to market regions based on cultural tastes while other were just for variation in a market where they were trying to sell their watches to the widest range of buyers.

That period was not Omega's shining hour and they were desperate to catch up on the quartz craze, so some of their products were aimed at the fashionistas of the time.
