I have an older clasp that fits the double ridge rubber strap that I have been wearing on my SMP 2254. I noticed that the clasp mechanism had come loose and after a bit of searching on the web, found out that this mechanism is held together by 2 tiny screws. Does anyone know where I can find replacement screws, or at least know the part number? I have already called ofrei and they do not have them.

When I look at the bill of materials for the clasp, the only part listed is a spring bar. This indicates to me that the screws are not available for purchase as a separate item. your best bet would be to visit an Omega boutique or AD and ask them to confirm this for you, and if possible order the screws.

Thank you very much. I called the Omega Service Center in Miami and they told me I would have to purchase a new clasp. What a shame. I did find an Ebay seller who is selling screws that fit the description with part number 124ST2800. I'm hoping for the best. I'm sure the latches can be held in place by altering the clasp in some way, but really wanted to avoid this.

Okay I searched on that screw part number, and then looked for all buckles that the screw is used on. Your buckle doesn't come up when I do that search. Those screws are shown for buckle part 94511402.

Hopefully it works, or at the very least the screws can be modified to work.

Let us know how you make out.

    Cheers, Al

One of the screws fit and torqued down perfectly. The other screw grabbed the threads; but would not tighten. I used just a tiny drop of monster super glue as thread-lock. Probably not the perfect fix, but I am back in business. Thanks for your help. I love Omega and so glad to be part of the forum.

I know this is a old thread but does anyone know why or what the difference is between the 94531803 and the 1506/832 please? I have seen them with double ribbed and straight straps in pictures?

As above, I know this is an old thread, but I’m wondering if my issue with 1506/832 is the same as OP’s…

Should the two main parts of this clasp close completely tight and flush?

I just picked one up (looks unused, still had purple wax), but there’s a gap between the two main parts of the clasp and quite a bit of movement. Just doesn’t seem right…

(Strap not attached to a watch — just hanging over my wrist)

When I lay the strap out flat, the parts come together with tension and the gap disappears.

Wax came off just through my handling of it. It’s on 18mm rubber, by the way, and completely uncut…

Can any owners of the 1506/832 confirm how it should be? Or how to repair?

I can confirm from my own that the clasp should be a nice tight fit although I have always used the double ribbed type of strap to go with it. I have two the same and both are a pretty good fit.
There are four pins on the inside of the deployant which can come loose and possibly bend so you should check all these. Also the flat screw should sit nicely through the hole when closing. The only other thing I can think of is you can take the button mechanism out quite easily for cleaning etc and it could have been put in the wrong way around. I hope this helps.

Really appreciate the detailed reply — thanks a lot!

Those 4 pins (you mean the ones circled below?) do seem really slack, actually. Also, the flat screw doesn’t seem to be going through the hole fully or with much friction. Same issue with the main pin and its hole (on the button mechanism). The whole thing seemed totally unused when I got it, so the problems don’t appear to have happened with wear…

    Thanks again for your help.

Just noticed the button mechanism on this one looks a little different:

Ahh! the button mechanism is upside down I think The writing is on the bottom on both of mine.
Also as daft as it sounds the new stickers could be stopping it closing 100%. Yes the four pins you’ve marked are the ones.
It looks like a new one so I can’t see it being much of a problem. Let me know how it goes

I was actually thinking it might be the stickers! Just removed them, but makes no difference.

Tried to confirm the orientation of the button mechanism, but couldn’t find any pics online.

I noticed one of the 4 pins mentioned before is very slack. The whole deployant swings very freely and loosely from that axis — feels like it will swing forever.

Not sure I’m up to removing the bottom mechanism without causing additional damage, so I might just wait until the next time I’m having a watch serviced and have my watchmaker look at it.

I was planning on maybe getting 20mm double-ridged rubber or sharkskin and using it with my 2296.80 (tri-metal chrono), but just as an occasional option — it’s not an absolute necessity or anything.

    Thanks again for your help!

No problem. Just a quick tip on removing the button. It’s all one peice so bits won’t fly everywhere. Hold both buttons in with your finger nails in one hand as far as you can get them and use a cocktail stick or similar with your other hand underneath and it pops out. Basically it’s just the buttons that hold it into the clasp.

That sounds manageable— might just give it a go!
