Help needed! Correct day disc for my Connie.

Hi all,

my (unmoralic) but rare N.Korea constellation c-shape

undergoes a desperately needed service at the moment. It has a caliber 1022 produced in 1978.
The plastic date disc needs to be replaced, but obviously I ordered the wrong one. The day disc is (luckily) fine.
I thought it were the part 1010-1580 BL, but my watchmaker says it misses a elevated ring on the back. I think the corrrect part may be 1020-1580 BL but they are only available with in steel not plastic. Anybody knows more?

Yes, the 1010 and 1020 date indicators are not the same, because of the day function on the 1022.

72210201580BL is the correct part number. It is not steel - it's made of brass.

PS - why are you ordering the parts instead of the watchmaker?

He offered me to do so, but I made some good experience on searching on my own for old stock parts. He would order a new one, but I try to avoid this (if possible)

72210201516A is the correct Omega part number for the white disk. There are several colour options, however. The bae caliber goes back to 1020, not 1010.

He's after the date disk, not the day disk.

Why do you want the one made of plastic? Omega made the change to brass for a reason.

Ah, so they made a change: that’s a good info.
Because I thought it would be more authentic to have the same disc inside again

One more question: So if there weren’t any more plastic date discs out there (I found one, hopefully the right one this time) would I be able to operate the brass date disc with the plastic day disc?!
Because the day disc is Korean and, I think, non-replaceable.

Omega always recommends replacing both at the same time. I suspect though this is more for appearances (in case of fading or discolouration) than for function. However the assumption that the white Korean day disk is not available is incorrect:
